About the founder
Hello everyone!
I’m Ksenia, the founder of Momento Travel 💛
I wanted to write you a letter about myself, so you know who you’re entrusting with your long-awaited holidays, your children’s vacations, and some of the best journeys of your life.
4 facts about me
- I’m a professional nomad and immigrant. I’ve lived in Russia, the United States, South Africa, Turkey, and Russia again, and now I’m planning another move.
- I’m hard to pin down! I’ve visited 49 countries, and last year alone I took around 70 flights.
- I have 2 passports and 3 suitcases. I often just pop home to swap my suitcase and passports before heading straight back to the airport.
- My favorite country is KYRGYZSTAN!
Now for something important about our company and your travels with us: I have A LOT of experience organizing trips.
Fifteen years ago, I began traveling on 999-ruble Pobeda flights around Russia, camping by rivers, picking mushrooms in the taiga, staying in hostels, and using free audio guides across Europe. I had to find ways to enjoy myself on what seemed like the tiniest budget.
MY APPROACH
Journeys that stay with you
As time went by, my travel experience grew to include the finest hotels in Africa, Asia, and Europe; countless Michelin-starred restaurants; wonderful spas, concerts, hard-to-reach routes, and adventurous activities.
Most importantly, all of it taught me what value for money really means in practice, not just in theory.
I can say with confidence that I KNOW how to create the best possible trip without overspending where it isn’t needed or cutting corners on experiences that are truly worth it.
On our trips, we might stay in a yurt in the mountains of Kyrgyzstan for $50 a night or in the Namibian desert for $800 a night — and in both places you’ll say, “WOW! That was the best experience!”
We’ll cook fish soup together over a fire on Sakhalin, enjoy freshly caught trout in the Kyrgyz mountains, and also dine at a Cape Town restaurant ranked among the world’s top 50. Both will be the most delicious meals you’ve ever had.
My team and I will help you enjoy DIFFERENT kinds of travel, show you the world through our eyes, and find beauty in what may seem ordinary. We’ll do it all with humor, warmth, kindness, and sincere curiosity about everything around us.
We’ll also introduce you to wonderful people whose friendship you may carry with you for the rest of your life.
And MOST importantly: we’ll do everything we can so that you leave a trip with us saying, “That was the best moment of my life.”
